Experience global horse culture in all its gritty glory as you experience a spectacular journey through Morocco, Spain, Argentina, Chile, Mexico, British Columbia and Texas. Meet vaqueros, gauchos, baqueanos and cowboys who are part of a single global horse culture—an unbroken trail stretching back 1,200 years. These rugged men and women were pioneers, often first to settle the wild frontiers, laying the foundation in language, music and dress to shape a culture for the entire new world.
Filmed in exotic and rarely visited locations, Ride Around the World includes some of the most spectacular horse footage ever seen. A truly profound visual and cultural experience, this international journey will thrill audiences around the world while uniting them in a shared heritage.
Ride Around the World is the 2007 winner of “Best Documentary” at the Western Heritage Awards and the 2007 winner of the “Gold Medal” at the Park City Film Music Festival. This critically acclaimed documentary, which enjoyed a national theatrical release, was supported by a national print advertising campaign in America’s Horse magazine and on several horse enthusiasts Web sites.
Ride Around the World is presented in widescreen with an aspect ratio of 16 x 9 (1.78:1). The transfer from the original IMAX 15/70 print was completed using state-of-the-art scanning technology. The English and Spanish soundtracks are delivered in Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound.
Special features include full-length “Making Of” documentary produced as an episode for the award-winning TV series America’s Horse; trailer gallery; film trivia quiz; and optional Spanish-language audio track. The Blu-ray 1080p version includes the same special features of the SD release, but with enhanced audio, which are presented in DTS HD Master 5.1 audio format on all tracks. The Blu-ray version will be BD Live enabled.
